Christmas Market for Christian Friends of Magen David Adom

Many thanks to everyone who helped with our very successful day; catering, selling, carrying, donating etc.   The proceeds, which include some elements of donations as well as sales, mean I will be sending £1,008.12 to M.D.A. in Israel (with no deductions for administration and the like).   Because of the amount and quality of the donated items still in stock, we are planning a Summer Market.   If you have saleable stuff, please retain for now.   If they are electrical, and need testing, please let me know and I can arrange.

Can You Help?

After Rodney Pereira’s time in prison in Sri Lanka he feels a need to help prisoners however he can.  They need toothpaste, toothbrushes and soap.  The conditions in prison are appalling.  Many are there without trial or any charges being brought, their families are suffering greatly as a result.  The simplest way to help is to send money for them to buy what they need.  If you'd like to contribute please contact Geoff Metcalf.

Ladies Mentoring

I'm gathering names now for our next season of one-to-one Bible study and prayer,  I'll be by the door after the meeting if you just want to give me your name, but feel free to come and chat if you'd like to know more. Christine Bentley

Valued Event

250 women attend - all were challenged by Gee Walker with her compassion, humility, integrity and forgiving heart.   The profits were split: The Anthony Walker Foundation  £720, church refurbishment project  £300 and Another Place Choir £100.   A big thank you to all who attended and to the many who helped make this event possible.

If you would like a visit or know of someone that is in hospital, please phone the church office.   For more information see Val Turpin or Diane Dunning.

Biblefresh

 Biblefresh logo

2011 is the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Version of the Bible and therefore presents a unique opportunity for the Church to focus its attention on the Word of God.

Biblefresh is a movement of churches, agencies, organisations, colleges and festivals which has a vision to reignite and re-enthuse the church in its passion for the Bible. For many in our churches the Bible has become tedious and toxic rather than treasured, trusted and true. The aim of the Biblefresh initiative is to encourage a greater confidence and passion for Scripture across the Church.

'Not Ashamed'

 Not Ashamed icon

The Not Ashamed campaign provides an opportunity for Christians across the UK to stand together and speak up for the Christian foundation of our nation, motivated by the conviction that Jesus Christ is good news not just for individuals or for the church but for society as a whole. Indeed, He is the only true hope for our nation.

You can read more about why the campaign has been launched here and about what is involved here. You can also read here about some of those who have been effectively barred from involvement in aspsects of public life because of their committment to biblical belief and behaviour.

Discovery Class

These classes are held in the Library every Sunday morning at 10.00am. Their purpose is to rediscover the vision and values of Kingsway. Newcomers are more than welcome!
